NO KINGS

BUT JESUS

A Commentary on the Book of Revelation

David P. Lepant, J.D.

This book is a careful analysis of the scriptures in an attempt to gain an understanding of the message that Jesus wanted John to deliver to the churches. In this book, the author attempts to explain what God wants the church to know about the end times. The message is meant to comfort the saints and to urge them to complete the race that has been set before them. Revelation is not a book that should scare you. God does not want you to approach it in fear. Jesus Himself in Chapter 1 says “Fear not”. Revelation should encourage you for it is a message of strength and victory. Jesus is the Victor and we reign with Him!

ELECTION IS

GOD’S CHOICE

David P. Lepant, J.D.

A new look at an old and controversial subject, Predestination. Does God choose us or do we choose Him? This book surveys history to explore what some great saints of the church taught on this issue. Does a sinful man possess the power to believe in Christ or must he be empowered to do so? Find out how Jesus and His Apostles addressed this most important question.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I was raised in a Roman Catholic family. My parents were very religious and made sure that all of their children went to Confession on Saturday night so that we could receive Holy Communion when we attended Mass, without fail, on Sunday. I completed twelve grades of Catholic school and lived at a seminary for a week one summer in anticipation of training to become a priest. Consequently, I acquired an extensive knowledge of the Gospels and the Epistles and the Old Testament Bible stories and Catholic traditions.

While in High School, I became quite rebellious towards my parents and the teachings of my church. I attended college at the University of California at Berkely, becamea a hippie and eventually was expelled from school for being involved in an anti-war riot on campus. I returned home in disgrace only to find that my family had a religious experience and were praying for me.

I became “born again” in a life-altering way when I was twenty through my family’s involvement in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. At that time, I was told that I had received the “Baptism of the Holy Spirit” and that I would soon learn to speak in tongues.

Over the years, I have attended several different churches for varying lengths of time, including Assembly of God, Berean, Methodist and Baptist, while visiting many others. I just could not find a church where I felt comfortable. For a few years, I did not attend any church. However, God had a plan for me. I suffered a heart attack and nearly died after which I decided I needed to get serious about my spiritual life. I started looking for a church and was led to a conservative Presbyterian church where I have made my home since 2018.

It was here that God impressed upon me that to understand the Bible I must study it, not just read through it, and seek God for answers to its meaning. I also discovered that I wanted to share what I had learned and with God’s help have written three books which I want to share with you. Happy reading!
